Indenture
”Upon entering this agreement, I voluntarily put myself under this contract to serve without pay or compensation, aiding the Controlling Party in whatever form or to whatever purpose they might need, for the amount of years specified herein.”
Indenture is a larp about human relationships, power dynamics and desperate choices. It is about how far you are willing to go and the risk of losing everything at a high-stakes game.
It is about twelve guests at a very special dinner party. The host of the party has offered each of them a chance to participate at a high stakes game – one where there is enough money to be made to give them security for life, along with other opportunities that cannot be easily bought for money. The only requirement? That each of them bring a companion that voluntarily agrees to put ten years of their life as part of the pot.
It is a gamble where anyone who comes out a winner might suddenly hold great power in their hands, power that might be too much for them to handle. The losers? They have lost everything and must face the consequences of their choice to enter this competition.

But who are the ones who would enter such an agreement?
A loving couple who are indebted and desperate, both trying to convince the other that they should be the one given away.
A criminal who has a victim of human trafficking as their stake at the table.
A couple where one has been manipulated and abused, and the abuser has signed up in order to prove their power and control.
Two involved in a voluntary affair where this game is the height of a power exchange gone too far.
Two professional gamblers there to get rich, agreeing to flip a coin for the one to be given away, because there is no way they’d lose.
A person desperate to save the life of their partner, putting themselves in without the knowledge of the other, and urging them to play for money to pay for medical treatment.
And many others…
Changes from 2025 runs
After participant feedback:
On day two, there is now the possibility for a fourth game of poker early in the day, if the distribution of tokens, money and similar warrants it. This might be decided after game 1, and then game 2 might be a bit shorter.
We have added a few couples to allow more accurate casting preferences and to change the balance a little bit between different motivations.
We also designated Run 1 as our Grimdark run, where we will try to create a couple lineup and rules that are a little bit more overtly oppressive. This is done both to give those who want that kind of experience from Indenture to have an option to get that, but also to harmonize playstyles across the runs. It is still the same larp, and it isn’t meant as better or more real than the other runs.
Welcome to Indenture
